Overview

Embark on a thrilling off-road buggy adventure of more than 3-hours from Asim Zeneli village to the scenic Doftia Lake. This experience combines adrenaline-filled drives with stunning natural landscapes, local history, and a relaxing lakeside picnic. Participants can either share a buggy with a partner or book one for themselves for an exclusive ride. Each buggy is shared by two participants, who can switch driving duties halfway through the tour.

Itinerary:

  1. Departure from Asim Zeneli:
    • Begin with an orientation on buggy operation and safety.
    • Set off on an exhilarating off-road journey through Albania’s beautiful terrain.
  2. Bunker Stop – Cold War History
    • Stop briefly to learn about Albania’s defensive system during the communist era, with bunkers near the Greek border.
    • Opportunity for photos and a brief history of these bunkers.
  3. Cini Lake Stop
    • Pause at Cini Lake, an artificial reservoir created in the late 1960s for irrigation.
    • Take in the views and capture photos in this scenic location.
  4. Doftia Lake – Picnic, Fishing, and Local Tales
    • Arrive at Doftia Lake, home to diverse birdlife and a perfect spot for a lakeside picnic.
    • As the picnic is prepared by a local household, enjoy a short sport fishing session (catch-and-release only) guided by a local fisherman.
    • The fisherman will share the history and stories of the lake, offering a unique cultural experience while you relax by the water.
  5. Return to Asim Zeneli
    • Switch drivers for the return journey, wrapping up the adventure as you follow the scenic trails back.
  • Shared Buggy: 65 Euros per person (includes picnic and fishing experience).
  • Solo Buggy: 85 Euros per person (includes picnic and fishing experience).
  • Group Discount: 5% off for groups of 8 or more.
  • Group Size: Minimum 3 people, maximum 10 people.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Weight Limit: Max combined weight per buggy is 150 kg.
  • Driver’s License: Drivers must hold a valid type B license and sign a liability form in advance.
  • Booking: To reserve, please send a photo of your license via email at least 24 hours before the tour.

Tour Times:

  • Available daily at 9:00 AM and 13:00 PM.

Dress Code:

  • Long pants, sturdy shoes, and a wind/rain jacket if needed.
  • Sun protection (sunscreen, hat).
  • Water bottle and a small waist pack for personal items.
  • Ensure clothing has zipped pockets to secure personal items.
